Principal Investigator

Dr. Rajan Kashyap
Dr. Rajan Kashyap completed his Electrical Engineering from NIT Bhopal and was selected as a Talent Italy Fellow (Full fellowship) to pursue his Masters in Electronics Engineering at Politecnico Di Torino, Italy. He earned his PhD in Physics (Neuroscience) from Hong Kong, in close collaboration with Humboldt University, Germany, supported by Hong Kong Government's Top PhD Fellowship (HKPFS) and the DAAD Fellowship from Germany.
Dr. Kashyap has extensive experience working with leading AI and neuroscience researchers. He served as a Research Scientist at the National University of Singapore under Dr. Thomas Yeo, one of the world's top neuroscientists, and later at the AI & Clinical Brain Application Labs at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, collaborating with Prof. Annabel Chen and Cuntai Guan on AI, brain-computer interfaces, and neurorehabilitation.
He also has industrial experience with companies like Oracle and Polaris and serves as an AI lecturer and neuroscientific consultant for universities and several startup organizations. In 2022, he returned to India as a Ramalingaswami Fellow, a prestigious recognition by the Government of India for top Indian scientists abroad.
He is now an Assistant Professor (under RLS Fellowship) at the Department of Neuroimaging and Interventional Radiology, NIMHANS, Bangalore. His research focuses on leveraging AI to analyze multimodal brain data and develop precision, non-invasive treatment strategies for neuropsychiatric disorders. He has developed five widely used open-source toolboxes and published extensively in top neuroscience journals.

Research Fellows

Tanushree L
Tanushree is a dynamic researcher focused on developing AI-driven solutions from large-scale data. She has developed models to estimate brain age using MRI data. Her work combines hands-on expertise in building AI models with experimental validation using MRI, FMRI, DTI, and tDCS, bridging computational approaches with real-world neuroimaging and neuromodulation applications.
Tanushree was selected as the FOSSEE Summer Fellow 2023 at IIT Bombay, where she published 15 projects in mathematical modeling using GeoGebra on the FOSSEE open-source platform. Her expertise lies in the application of Mathematics and Science, bridging interactive visualization such as 3D Augmented Reality (AR) with computational modeling.
Her passion for AI in healthcare was sparked during her MSc thesis, where she developed an "FFT Based Algorithm in Smart Watches for Disabled Persons." This work, which focused on signal processing for assistive technology, was presented at an International Conference and laid the foundation for her transition into computational neuroscience.
Moving forward, she aims to develop AI models, non-invasive treatment strategies for neuropsychiatric disorders and build personalized neuromodulation softwares to improve patient outcomes.
